Go Skiing

Go Skiing is an initiative by Ski Television and the Canadian Ski Council to introduce Canadians to snowsports through content that follows the progress of new skiers and snowboarders.

The program started with participants getting “Geared up” at Corbetts Ski + Snowboard in Oakville Ontario with Helly Hansen outerwear, mid-layers and base layers, Head skis and ski boots, and Smith head protection and goggles.

Part II had the participants experience their first on snow experience at Blue Mountain Resort under the guidance of Blue Mountain’s Ski and Snowboard school instructors.

Part III saw the participants graduate from lessons and the beginner area to beginner and intermediate slopes.

Part IV, to be filmed in fall 2021, will see selected participants graduate to their first destination ski vacation trip, showing the full learning evolution from “Never Ever” snowsports participant, to going on a ski/snowboard vacation.

English versions of Go Skiing aired in English on Rogers Sportsnet and CBC, and in Chinese on OMNI Television and CBC. Below are the segments from Ski Television as well as links to the full episodes on CBC digital platform.
